Job Purpose: OurDay Shift Warehouse Supervisoris a key role working with our Operations Manager to ensure the smooth running of the day operation in our Depot where you will lead teams of, Sorters and Drivers in processing parcels delivered from client sites in to smaller geographic areas to be delivered to the final customer. About the Role: Youll be joining our business as a key member of the Depot Management team. Working under Operations Manager, you will support your Depot by providing strong people-management to all front-line staff on your shift. You will supervise a mixed team of contracted and agency staff across our day shifts. The Day Shift is key to our business as it is when we process the growing returns part of our business as well as parcels collected from our network of Parcel Shops. We need Professionals who can motivate, manage and where necessary discipline a diverse workforce to get the best out of them. You will also talent manage and develop your team so that as promotion and more senior roles become available you have the talent to build your team. Responsibilities: Develop and train reports and ensure SLAs are hit for the day shiftProcess MI reports based on work output of Drivers and LoadersManaging all areas of the day parcel shop operations, sortation and transportation in an efficient cost-effective manner.People Managementrecruitment / induction and ongoing engagement of Warehouse drivers and ongoing performance and attendance management, submission of daily debrief with drivers and weekly reports required.ComplianceLegalities, Management of domestic driving hours (breaks/length of shifts/rest periods). Additional support on all driver compliance in depotsResourcingplanning of local routes to ensure effective delivery of parcels, effective utilisation of rosters.Essential skills and experience required: Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment to tight deadlinesExperience of managing teams in a fast-paced logistics environment is a definite advantagePC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft officeTransport knowledge, skills or experience including regulationsGood communicator and able to liaise at all levelsFlexible approach to work to meet business requirementsWhat we can offer you: We can offer you a competitive salary, bonus, 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, 3% contribution into your pension, life assurance and income protection.
