Job Description:

We are seeking a talented Data Engineering Consultant to join our collaborative and inclusive team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and high-performing data solutions using the latest cloud technologies for our clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop data pipelines and ETL processes using Apache Spark (Databricks or Microsoft Fabric) and Python
  • Write complex, high-performance SQL queries and optimize them for different compute technologies
  • Utilize Azure Data Factory or other cloud orchestration tools to automate data workflows
  • Leverage Azure Data Lake storage and Delta Lake for data storage and management
  • Implement data governance solutions using tools like Unity Catalog or Purview
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
  • Apply DevOps principles and use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Azure DevOps for deployment and CI/CD


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in Python programming and SQL
  • Experience with Apache Spark and cloud-based data processing technologies
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts, particularly Microsoft Azure
  • Familiarity with data engineering best practices, including data quality, resilience, and observability
  • Exposure to Agile project management and ETL/ELT approaches
  • Knowledge of data governance and metadata management
  • Hands-on experience with cloud orchestration tools and IaC


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Knowledge of streaming data technologies (Azure Stream Analytics, Event Hubs, IoT Hubs)
  • Understanding of distributed computing and parallel processing
  • Familiarity with Azure Functions and serverless computing
  • Strong client-facing and consulting skills
