The Role:


You will be the technical lead and manage the migration of an extensive legacy Esri geospatial data structure to a modern, automated architecture that supports the most up to date ESRI products with the minimum impact to operational services. This will include working with ESRIUK, the GIS team and internal customers.


The Contract:

2-year, full time contract.


About you:


Along with an excellent understanding of spatial data structures and fundamental concepts of GIS you will have the following Esri software experience…..


  • A thorough understating of the capabilities of the ArcGIS Platform.


  • Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise architecture.


  • Experience in user management and administration on ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.


  • Be highly competent in the use of ArcGIS Desktop and Pro.


  • Experienced in development of web mapping apps using ESRI app builders and templates.


  • Some experience of working with Power BI is preferred but not essential.



It is essential that you have excellent ESRI geospatial data creation, storage, migration and manipulation skills. This should include…..


  • Experience publishing and managing data on ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online as well as in enterprise geodatabases and file geodatabases using ESRI products.


  • Experience of the creation of flows for geospatial ETL, creating processes to transform and move GIS data between different databases/datastores.


  • Experience with ESRI Model Builder and Data Interoperability tools - to both streamline and simplify common data conversion and ETL tasks as well as solve geospatial data analysis problems.


  • The ability to work with various scripting/coding tools such as JavaScript and Python etc to manipulate spatial files.


  • Experience of integrating spatial and non-spatial enterprise data stores.



Non-technical skills should include:


  • Experience of running a large-scale spatial data modernisation programme.


  • Able to communicate with and coordinate a delivery team based in multiple locations and from multiple disciplines as well as work closely with suppliers and customers.


  • Proficient in the delivery of projects to meet quality, time, and budget requirements.


  • Being a well-rounded problem solver who understands client requirements/issues and identifies efficient and innovative ways to deliver results.


  • Be comfortable presenting proof-of-concept demonstrations and recommended solutions to customers and senior management whilst promoting GIS.


  • Proficient in the creation of technical documentation and process diagrams.


  • Understanding of data licencing and data protection policies and procedures.


  • Ability to complete work with GIS best practices and corporate standards in mind.


  • Some experience of working within local government is preferred but not essential.
