Role: Senior HPC Presales Architect

Location: Remote/ on a number of client sites, primarily across the south of England

Salary: Up to £115,000 + Bonuses

Type: Permanent, full-time



Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of High Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies?



Position Overview:

As a High Performance Computing and/or large Linux-based infrastructures professional, you'll be joining the BDS Presales team in the UK. Your primary focus will be on designing and delivering HPC & AI solutions that exceed our customers' expectations. This role involves close collaboration with various internal teams, including Support, Service, Benchmarking, and Product, to ensure the optimal performance of proposed supercomputers for our clients' scientific applications.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing HPC & AI solutions tailored to customer requirements.
  • Architecting InfiniBand cluster hardware and HPC software solutions.
  • Demonstrating a deep understanding of financial, commercial, and risk elements in solution design.
  • Broad technical exposure including networking (InfiniBand, Ethernet), processors (Intel/AMD/ARM/NVIDIA), parallel file systems, and data center infrastructure.
  • Additional skills in MPI, parallel job scheduling (e.g., SLURM), and management & monitoring tools (e.g., Icinga, Prometheus, Grafana) are advantageous.



Requirements:

  • Eligible and willing to undergo UK Govt. security clearance.
  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect in the HPC and/or AI domain.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technically with customers.
  • Curiosity, passion for learning, and a proactive attitude towards challenges.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally Europe.
