XARlabs is on a mission to reduce preventable medical errors by transforming how healthcare professionals are trained. We are developing next-generation mixed reality tools to enhance surgical tools and training. We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join our team and drive the development of robust, scalable platforms that power our innovative solutions.


Position Summary

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining XARlabs’ platforms. You will collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and maintain systems that power real-time, high-fidelity mixed reality applications. This role requires expertise in both front-end and back-end development, with a focus on delivering seamless user experiences and efficient system integrations. Experience in advanced 3D rendering, real-time data processing, and compliance with healthcare standards will be highly valued.


Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Development: Design and implement scalable front-end and back-end solutions for XARlabs’ platforms, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • 3D Rendering and Visualization: Contribute to 3D data segmentation, rendering, and visualization workflows for mixed reality environments.
  • System Integration: Develop and maintain APIs to integrate AR/VR tools with medical imaging systems, surgical navigation modules, and analytics platforms.
  • Optimization: Focus on real-time performance, including low-latency and high-reliability systems for interactive simulations.
  • Innovation: Prototype and implement advanced features, such as surgical tool tracking, data visualization, and real-time simulations.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure solutions meet healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and maintain robust security measures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with AR engineers, clinicians, and product teams to translate clinical needs into actionable technical solutions.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Contribute to the development of junior team members and foster a collaborative, efficient engineering culture.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of full-stack development experience, including end-to-end ownership of complex applications.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript (React, Angular, Vue.js), Python, Node.js, or C#.
  • Expertise in 3D programming frameworks and rendering engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, OpenGL, DirectX).
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design, version control systems (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience in medical visualization, surgical navigation, or robotic navigation.
  • Familiarity with DICOM and other healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
  • Experience with AR/VR platforms like HoloLens, Magic Leap, or Meta Quest.
  • Background in real-time graphics programming, including shaders and compute shaders.
  • Experience prototyping and testing in high-stakes environments, particularly healthcare.
