Our work spans Government and Defence markets across civil and military applications, powering intelligent advantage on a global scale.Typical ActivitiesWorking in collaboration with internal stakeholders across Engineering, Products, IT, and Service teams, the DevOps Engineer will:Design, develop, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment.Use containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to ensure scalability and optimise resource allocation.Collaborate with IT & Service teams to configure, maintain, and monitor infrastructure for DevOps capabilities.Develop scripts and automation to streamline workflows and reduce manual tasks.Design and implement monitoring and logging solutions to track performance and reliability.Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth integration of DevOps tooling and processes.Conduct peer reviews of DevOps deliverables to maintain quality standards.What we're looking forProven experience implementing CI/CD best practices using GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI or Jenkins.Hands-on experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Puppet).Strong understanding of hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, on-prem).Working knowledge of networking concepts including VPCs, firewalls, and domain separation.Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Elastic, Prometheus or Splunk.Ability to produce and review clear, structured technical documentation.Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.DesirableExperience developing microservices in Rust or Go.Familiarity with serverless or cloud function technologies.Understanding of software supply chain security, including artefact management and vulnerability scanning.Knowledge of SaaS and PaaS architectures.Experience in government or defence environments.Why Work at PentenAmio?At PentenAmio, we value our employees and offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:Life Insurance - X4 Salary2:30pm finish on FridaysOption to work 9-day-fortnightPrivate Health SchemeEV Salary Sacrifice schemeSalary Sacrifice Company Pension, matched up to 10%25 Days Holiday + Bank/Public HolidaysEnhanced Maternity & Paternity leaveAdditional perks:Free on-site parkingCasual dress codeFree fruit in the officeQualifications & EligibilityTo Be Eligible For This Position You MustHold a relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or have equivalent professional experience; and,Be a British citizen; andHold or be eligible for UK National Security Vetting (NSV) - DV level clearancePentenAmio is committed to providing equality of opportunity for all.
