And thats where you come in.Job Description:Lead Technician Doncaster% shift allowancePermanent contractDays and nightsYour new roleHitachi Rail are currently searching for a Lead Technician to join our team in Doncaster at our state of the art Train Maintenance Centre. This is a permanent position working a rotating day and night shift.In this exciting role you will be responsible for undertaking corrective and preventative maintenance servicing complex fault finding and repair of Hitachi rolling stock assets.Specifically you will be responsible for the following deliverables:Prepare for and undertake planned and unplanned maintenance activitiesConfirm that traction and rolling stock assets comply with operational specifications by the use of engineering processes and techniquesRead and extract information from traction and rolling stock drawings and specificationsPrepare for and undertake the removal and replacement of traction and rolling stock componentsInstall assemble traction and rolling stock components using engineering processes and techniquesIdentify assess and rectify defects and discrepancies on Hitachi rolling stock assetsCreate technical scopes of work for fault rectification by other members of staffSupport engineering team with regards reliability improvements to rolling stock assetsAttend and provide technical support with failures in service when on dutyKeep SAP record system up to date with clear and concise information of work carried out.Maintain the condition of the work site materials and equipmentAdhere to health safety environmental & quality practices in the workplaceAbout youSkills & ExperienceExperience of supporting a maintenance team on a shift basis in a modern rolling stock maintenance depot environment.Outstanding Safety Awareness gained in an operational railway engineering environments.Highly experienced in undertaking preventative and corrective rolling stock maintenance on modern rolling stock. To include modern fault finding and repair techniques using pc based laptops and remote train diagnostics.Extensive experience of modern maintenance management systems (MMS) and associated reliability and available trend analysis.Experience of performing modifications and campaigns on modern rolling stock.QualificationsM & E ONC or served apprenticeship with mechanical electrical disciplines or equivalent proven railway experience.Engineering based NVQ level 3 Electrical bias would be advantageousBehaviouralComfortable working alone or in a teamSound knowledge of and compliance to rules and regulations (internal and external)Calm and diplomatic under pressure able to support teach and mentor.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAble to interface effectively with all levels of personnel both within and outside the company.Loyal committed confident and determined.DesirableIntermediate IT skills typically Word Excel Power Point OutlookReading electrical pneumatic mechanical schematics and drawings readingTrain driving Fire warden First AiderTrain driving assessment and licenceDepot ProtectionWorking at Height COSHH Manual handling AC Depot isolationOperate a modern LOPs systemWhat we offer We value the importance of all of our employees if you would like to join our fantastic organisation you could be entitled to: Competitive salary Annual Performance bonus paid on discretionary basis. 25 days holidayPension scheme with contributions up to 9% Private medical insurance Personal Accident insurance Group Income protectionGroup Life Insurance Employee Assistance Programme We also offer additional perks for you to choose from within a flexible plan that will meet your specific needs and lifestyle.#LI-AL1Thank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
