With an impressive track record and a successful fundraising round nearing completion, the firm is positioned for significant growth, with plans to expand its teams in London and Europe..

To support this expansion, the firm is seeking an Associate with 2-3 years of experience in Private Debt to join the Private Debt Department. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to contribute to the firm’s growth and success in a leading private equity environment.


Role Overview:


The Private Equity Associate will be a key member of the Private Debt team, responsible for supporting the investment process, from deal origination to execution and ongoing portfolio management. The successful candidate will be involved in evaluating and structuring private debt investments across Europe, working closely with senior team members to help drive the firm’s investment strategy in this space.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Investment Evaluation: Assist in the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of private debt investment opportunities across Europe, assessing risk profiles, creditworthiness, and return potential.
  • Financial Analysis & Modelling: Create and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate potential debt transactions, perform stress tests, and assess cash flow projections to inform investment decisions.
  • Due Diligence: Lead and participate in financial, legal, and operational due diligence on potential investment opportunities, ensuring all risks and returns are fully analyzed.
  • Transaction Execution: Support the negotiation and structuring of private debt deals, including liaising with legal advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth transaction completion.
  • Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage the performance of existing private debt investments, providing regular updates on key financial and operational metrics, and recommending strategies to optimize returns.
  • Investment Documentation: Prepare investment memos, presentations, and reports for the Investment Committee, outlining key deal rationales, risks, and upside potential.
  • Market Research: Conduct ongoing research and analysis of the European private debt market, as well as broader industry trends and economic conditions, to identify new investment opportunities.


Candidate Profile:


  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in Private Debt, Leveraged Finance, Private Credit, or a related field.
  • Experience with mid-market lending or debt investing is highly desirable.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong financial modelling and credit analysis skills, with a deep understanding of private debt structures and risk assessment.
  • Proven ability to conduct detailed due diligence and make sound investment recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline is required.
  • Postgraduate qualifications (such as CFA, ACA, or similar) are advantageous.
  • Languages:
  • Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in German or French is beneficial, given the firm’s expansion into key European markets.
  • Location:
  • The role is based in London, with potential travel across Europe, particularly in the UK, Germany, and France.
