We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic sales person with a proven track record in growing small businesses who can help the charity to increase sales, enabling it to expand and evolve offering more opportunity to more people.


Primarily focusing on our B2B market, we are interested in candidates who have an understanding of the retail sector (ideally within gifting), are able to identify new sales opportunities, foster existing customer relationships and take ownership of day to day sales tasks. The successful candidate will thrive on following leads and enjoy the art of selling, whist being capable of the attention to detail needed to see a sale through to completion. They will be confident, organised and have excellent communication and numerical skills. They will be pro-active and able to work independently, whilst also happy taking direction from the Sales and Operations Director overall.


The person we recruit will be comfortable working as part of a small team in a small charity, and be able to pitch in and cover for colleagues when needed, particularly in B2C sales admin and online despatch at busy times of year. Experience of Excel is essential, and a working knowledge of Shopify, Sage, and/or other sales and inventory systems desirable. Some driving will also be required.

This is a part time role 5 days per week 9.30-3.00 with half an hour unpaid lunch, It is based in our office in Godalming, with occasional travel including to trade shows (currently c. 2 per year, UK based, potentially more frequent in the future). As part of the team you will benefit from a healthcare package , pension contributions and 25 holiday days pro rata holiday (plus BH’s). Salary range £22-25k pro rata depending on experience. 



Responsibilities

Reporting to and working closely with the Sales and Operations Exec, with the following specific responsibilities

 

  • Build and cement relationships with existing trade customers; calling, visiting and meeting where relevant
  • Identify untapped sales opportunities within existing trade customer base, developing strategies to leverage opportunities and increase sales income
  •  Be the first point of contact for new trade and corporate gifting sales approaches
  • Proactively identify new trade sales and corporate gifting opportunities, developing strategies to convert into income
  • See each sales opportunity through to completion, with the help of the Sales Admin Lead in the latter stages
  • Hold regular weekly meetings with the Sales & Ops Exec to discuss sales progress, opportunities and approaches
  • Support the Sales & Ops Exec in the generation and analysis of sales reports
  • Be able to use sales systems (currently Sage50 and Shopify) in order to manage the admin associated with sales
  • Manage the delivery of company (corporate) gifting opportunities from beginning to end, with guidance from Sales & Op Exec, and support from the fulfilment team
  • Help to prepare for and sell at Trade Shows/other events (usually 2 to 3 a year, often including a weekend day)
  • Help to manage the storage, organisation and transport of products and display furniture used at trade shows. Some physical lifting and driving will be required in these instances.
  • Work closely with the Stock Controller, sharing information about stock levels and projected sales quantities
  • Take part in scheduled Stock Take
  • Be prepared to help with tasks in other areas of the Charity during busy periods and holiday covers, particularly with B2C sales inc. customer service, online sales order processes, packing and despatch

Full driving license and willingness to drive (inc. hire vehicles)                             

Experience of Stock, Supplier and Distribution processes/systems                       

Working knowledge of Sage 50 Professional software                                            

Working knowledge of Shopify ecommerce platforms                                           

Experience of working in a Charity
