Delegated Underwriting Assistant – Lloyd’s Insurance -Contract – Inside IR35 (£600-650 per day)


Manage the underwriting risk of the portfolio in conjunction with the underwriters, including Line Slip due diligence and new business development specific to Coverholders.

Develop streamlined approval and review processes for new, cancelled and renewing binders.

Ensure that at all times the best interests of our customers is at the forefront of our work and that all conduct aspects of Binding Authorities are brought to the attention of the Product Oversight Group.


  • Be a point of contact for the Syndicate, Lloyd’s and the wider business community for delegated underwriting matters across all classes.
  • To provide the syndicate underwriting teams and wider business community with guidance and advice supporting the management and set up of delegated underwriting arrangements for all lines of business.
  • Provide guidance and support for binding authority/coverholder appointment wording issues, working with the Senior Wordings and Technical Counsel as necessary.
  • Manage and co-ordinate onboarding new coverholders, liaising as necessary with other business functions on relevant matters.
  • Through efficient and effective due diligence ensure that all Coverholders are approved in line with WRBSML and Lloyd’s Minimum Standards.
  • Ensure the Delegated Underwriting team meet established KPI’s and performance is appropriately monitored.
  • Coordination of the monthly committee papers and reports.


  • Ability to manage time, manage projects, meet deadlines and prioritise effectively.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Practical knowledge and experience of working with DUAs either from an underwriting or compliance perspective.
  • Working knowledge of Lloyd’s minimum standards and the DUA Code of practice.
  • Understanding of Atlas & DCOM.
