Night Shift Supervisor

Menzies Distribution are looking for a Night Shift Supervisor to join our team providing a first class service in Ryde. You’ll be working on behalf of Menzies Distribution Solutions Limited and its customers. Supporting the team completing various warehouse tasks, as safely, accurately and as efficiently as possible upholding and the highest standards of health and safety at all times.

THE DETAILS:

  • Shift Pattern: Sunday 03:30am - 09:30am / Monday – Thursday 03:30am - 10:00am
  • Location: Ryde, PO33 1BG
  • Salary:  £22,000 per annum
  • Interim’ with a 6 month contract with possibility of full-time at the end of the interim period.
  • Perfect junior management role for someone who would like to progress, exciting opportunity for ambitious individual who is able to work in fast paced environment.

DUTIES:

  • Assist in the planning and forecast staff requirements including rota management and annual leave planning
  • Ensure inductions are carried out for all new staff
  • Provide on the job training to all staff and delivery contractors to ensure they are able to undertake their duties effectively, efficiently and safely and provide direction where necessary
  • Plan and control the allocated resources within your team
  • Ensure safe systems of work are adhered to at all times
  • Complete company disciplinary procedures where required and appropriate to position
  • Ensure that all Return-to-work interviews (RTW) are completed at the start of each shift and before employees return to their designated duties.
  • Manage absence and lateness in accordance with Company procedure
  • Ensure all payroll paperwork is passed to the relevant department to ensure pay is correct including sickness certificates, holiday forms, etc.
  • Liaise with team members as and when required
  • Ensure all staff have completed the necessary Health & Safety Training in order to carry out their role safely
  • Ensure the warehouse and loading areas are kept clean, tidy and safe at all times to comply with Company Policy and Health & Safety Regulations
  • Highlight to management any risk assessments required for staff i.e. returning from absence, maternity risk assessments, or any new tasks/machinery requiring staff to undergo further training

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Right To Work’ in the UK
  • Good communication & team working skills
  • Weekend working from time to time in line with peak periods/volume throughput
  • Experience operating within a warehouse environment
  • Flexible in working across various shift patterns and teams, to cover a 7 day operation
  • Team player, ready to help colleagues and consider the needs of the rest of the team
  • Understanding of health and safety in a warehouse environment
