Tezlom is an exciting agency to work for. We provide HEALTH CARE ASSISTANTS & SUPPORT WORKERS opportnities across Camden.
We are currently recruiting for Peer Support Workers with previous experience of working in a community setting offering advise and counselling support.
Within this role, The Peer Support Worker will offer non-clinical support to individuals experiencing emotional distress and or are at risk of developing a mental health crisis.
People will be referred to the service following a clinical assessment by their local health trust. The key objective of the service is to equip people with the skills they need to reduce their immediate anxiety, devise self-directed support plans and provide them with information / advice around the local services and resources that may help their recovery.
The service provides a welcoming, safe and supportive space along with a hot drink and snack who are assessed to be experiencing or are at risk of developing a mental health distress.
The service provides urgent appointments to ensure each person gets dedicated time and support with a Peer Support Worker.
Included in the service is :
- Advice, information and signposting
- One-to-one support
- Peer support
- Chill out space
- Hot drink and snack
- Group discussions and activities
The hours of work can be between 14:00hrs-22:00hrs depending on the location of the service
