Senior Healthcare Assistant

Hourly Rate: £12.59

Requirements for the Senior Healthcare Assistant:
  • Have a Level 2 Health & Social Care, Level 3 is desirable
  • Minimum 2 years experience

A Residential Care Home for Older Adults, specialising in caring for those living with dementia.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Senior Healthcare Assistant:

The role will include overseeing and supporting the care team on duty and resident group, administering medication, completing and updating/reviewing care plans, providing all ADL's, supporting G.P rounds and other health professionals as required.

  • Acting as a positive role model; provide effective supervision and guidance for the team; contribute towards their performance and professional development
  • Communicating any concerns to senior management
  • Ensuring the implementation of individual care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed
  • Providing practical support and responsive care to residents who require assistance with personal care needs
  • Observing and monitoring the wellbeing of residents, ensuring that any changes are referred and documented
  • Monitoring and allocating work for HCAs
  • Developing and maintaining a good professional relationship with residents, colleagues and visitors
  • Undertake administration of medication training and administer medication to residents
