DT Technician

DT Technician First For Education is working with a well-regarded secondary school in Dudley, and we are seeking a skilled and motivated Design & Technology Technician to support the DT department. This part-time role (4 days a week) is ideal for someone with workshop experience, practical skills, and a passion for supporting students’ learning. "we aim to work in partnership with parents and carers to ensure good behaviour in our academies at all times" You must have previous experince to be considered for this role Key Responsibilities * Prepare materials, tools and equipment for DT lessons * Support teachers during practical sessions where required * Maintain and oversee machinery, tools, and workshop spaces * Ensure all equipment is safe, maintained, and compliant with health & safety standards * Assist with stock checks, ordering materials, and managing resources * Contribute to a well-organised and efficient DT department environment What We’re Looking For * Experience as a DT Technician or within a workshop/technical environment * Good working knowledge of tools, machinery, and practical processes (e.g. woodwork, metalwork, CAD/CAM) * Understanding of health & safety regulations within a workshop setting * Organised, proactive and able to work independently * A prac...
