KAP TechnicalWorkshop TechnicianOverall RoleCarry out workshop activities, including maintaining and overhauling used plant machines, preparing new machines, and manufacturing new products. Always adhere to written job instructions, quality standards, budgets, and health and safety policies.Person Specification * Qualification in mechanical engineering (preferred). * Proven mechanical and fitting skills. * Experience with heavy plant machinery, particularly paving machines. * Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy plant equipment.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) 1. Completion of workshop tasks within the required timescales. 2. Completion of workshop tasks within allocated budget hours.Scope of Authority * Authorization to requisition parts within approved budgets.Main Duties and Responsibilities 1. Conduct planned inspections, maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of used paving machines. Prepare both used and new machines for sale to the required specifications. 2. Perform fitting tasks on newly built machines. 3. Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in the workshop, yard, and wash-down bay areas at all times. 4. Ensure tools and workshop equipment are kept in proper working condition. 5. Accurately document and report all maintenance, repairs, overhauls, adjustments, and inspections. 6. Comply with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as Procedures, ensuring no undue risk to personnel or the environment. 7.
