Equipment Team Leader

Reed Scientific are recruiting for an Equipment Team Leader to oversee and coordinate the maintenance, repair, qualification, and calibration of analytical and production equipment across our client's business. This role requires a flexible and supportive approach to meet evolving business needs and ensure service excellence. It's a great opportunity for any Analytical Chemists or QC Analysts that enjoy troubleshooting laboratory equipment and want to enter the realm of people management.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Manage the Equipment Team’s schedule to ensure timely routine maintenance and ad-hoc repairs.
  • Carry out or delegate reactive repairs and qualification to lab equipment, minimising downtime and monitoring performance against KPIs.
  • Develop specialist technical knowledge on a range of equipment and lead procurement processes.
  • Support projects, including equipment relocation and procurement.
  • Review and approve qualification data and ensure compliance with QMS records.
  • Provide management updates on team performance, equipment issues, and project progress.
  • Communicate effectively with the Facilities Manager and maintain key relationships across the business.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with company procedures and GMP principles.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience with a range of laboratory equipment, particularly HPLC.
  • Preferably experienced in a GMP environment.
  • Experience in leading a team is desirable, but not essential
  • Excellent IT literacy and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in team management.
  • Flexibility to meet the business needs.
