Ambit We have everything you need for a Detail & Build or Traditionally procured fit out project. Our team are close knit, dependable and highly experienced within the construction industry. We work across London and nationally with the support of the Workplace Futures Group and our extensive supply chain partners.

Our management team are experts in a variety of construction disciplines, so we are well placed to deliver not only standard commercial office fit out but also more technically complex projects, including cladding, structural work, data centres and have a track record which includes major projects valued more than £20m.


We understand that every project has varied requirements, and our in-house designers are able to seamlessly integrate with the existing professional team, working collaboratively to provide everything from full design and build to light touch co-ordination, always retaining design intent.


Your focus will be…

  • Assist design team with projects from concept to completion.
  • Create design tender documents including design analysis, look & feel, finishes palettes/specifications, space plans etc.
  • Present/pitch at tender interviews and client meetings.
  • Create Stage 2/3 conceptual design drawing packages.
  • Produce Stage 4/5 technical design drawing packages.
  • Conduct site visits, surveys, client meetings, design team meetings, sub-contractor meetings.
  • Review sub-contractor Stage 4 designs.
  • End of project deliverables such as snagging, as-built drawings etc.
  • Assist Senior Designer/Head of Design on larger pitches/projects as needed.
  • Engage with Building Control.
  • Take on CDM requirements as a key duty holder in Ambit.
  • Take on Principle Designer CDM role as needed project dependant.
  • Take on Principle Designer Building Regulations role as needed project dependant.


You will bring to the table…

  • Degree in Interior Architecture & Design or Architecture P1/P2
  • 3-6 years experience in industry
  • Previous construction/fit-out experience (Cut & Carve, CAT A, CAT A+, CAT B is a must)
  • CV & Portfolio of 3 projects minimum (ideally 2 workplace design and 1 own choice)
  • Software skills: AutoCAD, Adobe suite (InDesign & Photoshop), Procore (advantageous), Revit (advantageous), visualisation experience (advantageous)
  • Interests: Sketching, Sustainability, workplace strategy.
  • Can be sole/lead designer on smaller size projects (usually up to £2m) with assistance from a Junior Designer and support from Senior Designer/Head of Design where needed.
  • Inspire and assist Junior Designers on a day-to-day basis.
