Role Purpose: To ensure Aerodynamic Wind Tunnel tests are carried out in an effective and efficient manner. To develop implement and refine facility and capability improvement projects.Line Management for the Wind Tunnel Engineer Team ensuring tests are carried out to the highest standard providing quality data in the most efficient and effect manner. Ensure new test capabilities and facility developments projects are developed implemented and utilised in the most effective manner. Main Duties:Lead the Wind Tunnel Engineering Team ensuring output and quality standards are meeting expectations providing feedback and guidance as requiredOversight of the various model preparation activities. This will include but not be limited to Model build (electro/mechanical systems) and Model Shakedown including status reportingGenerate communicate and where appropriate implement ideas for improvements to the wind tunnel model facility the test and the test capabilities balancing this with the need for effective and efficient operations.You will Lead Facility and Operational Development projects as directed by the HOD and in conjunction with the rest of ATF.Take part in facility maintenance activities.Ensure a high standard of personal and department presentation is maintained as appropriate for a showcase facility visited by potential sponsors and other VIPs.Take a leading role towards the companys Health and Safety policy protecting both the people and the facility from unnecessary risks and damage.Ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum and that issues are properly communicated to the wider audience following up on any remedial actionManage resources optimise workflows and account for these via accurate cost cap reporting and the meeting of project deadlinesFostering a culture of accountability innovation and teamwork. Provide guidance for professional development and enhancement to foster a positive change mindset and high performance challenging the norm and pushing for the highest levels of performance.Establish and agree key performance indicators with the Head of ATF to measure success and impact.Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements incorporating innovation solutions into practice encouraging a culture of research and development within the team.Facilitate communication channels to keep the teams informed and engaged specifically with Model Design and Aero Development teamsContribute to the overall ATF strategy collaborating with other team leaders to help maximise the overall effectiveness of the department.     Key Accountabilities: (choose appropriate level description)(Manager/Supervisor level role)Fulfil all organisational expectations including but not limited to the following:Role model Williams Values & Behaviours supporting and holding others accountable to do the same.Always ensure compliance with health and safety obligations supporting employees to uphold expected standards. Ensure high standards of behaviour and conduct are upheld across the organisation including the wellbeing of team members.Carry out effective team member performance management making sure suitable measures are agreed and taken to close any identified gaps in skills or knowledge.Ensure you adhere to brand rules and maintain high standards of department presentation.Comply with quality standards and identify and contribute ways to continuously improve department and personal performance.Ensure understanding of cost cap requirements and identify opportunities to improve optimisation.  Qualifications and Experience Level:Proven track record of working within an Aero Testing Facility within a motorsport environmentIn depth knowledge of wind tunnel systems and communication processes An understanding of what is key for effective aerodynamic development and excellent interpersonal skillsRelevant degree (or equivalent)Experience of project management and working in multi-tasking environmentsStrong leadership capabilities able to engage with impact build confidence and ignite commitment navigate and lead in a dynamic and evolving business landscapeConfident and well organised with the ability to clearly prioritise tasks and make sound decisions based on good judgment seeking input as required Great analytical and decision-making skillsDemonstrates a solution focussed approach and is proactive in resolving any challenge that they are faced with  Additional Information : Atlassian Williams Racing is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion.
