This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to work with the Engineering Manager, North and wider leadership team with the continued provision of comprehensive support across a range of mechanical and electrical engineering projects.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist with the effective planning, control and management of projects secured from the tendering stage, through negotiation to contract completion.
  • Draft quotations and undertake estimating for smaller engineering projects using Beck & Pollitzer standard commercial approach.
  • Undertake any reporting as requested by the Engineering Manager with regard to performance of projects.
  • Assist with method statements and risk assessments on site where requested.
  • Ensure that all interactions with the client are conducted on a professional basis at all times.
  • Monitor the activities on site and report back to the Project Manager/Engineering Manager any issues with performance, the client or any concerns about safety or security.
  • Lead a small team/projects as and when required.


The Successful Project Engineer will have:


  • Relevant degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical.
  • Have previously worked in an engineering environment.
  • Experience of using Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and industry recognised tools for tracking, analysis, business documents, presentations etc. CAD experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience of applying health and safety legislation including risk management processes.
  • A strong knowledge of Mechanical or Electrical contracting.
  • Have the ability to build strong business relationships with key customers.
  • Will have excellent written and verbal skills at both technical and professional level.
  • Will be confident with presenting and explaining technical concepts simply and succinctly.
  • Is able to work at a consistent level under demanding project deadlines.
  • Has excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Can persuade and influence people at all levels with a confident and assertive approach.
