ROLE: 6-month Fixed Term Contract: E Commerce Lead (DTC + Amazon)

SUMMARY
We have an amazing opportunity for an E-Commerce expert with a passion for growing brands to join the Balance Me team. Key responsibility is to take ownership of the day-to-day management of both our website, balanceme.com (x3 Markets) and Amazon (UK & US) to achieve monthly financial & channel KPIs in accordance with brand guidelines. This will initially be on a 6-month contract, with potential for the role to go permanent (subject to performance).

Our vision is to be the leading independent British beauty brand and we have ambitious plans to fuel business growth with our DTC and Amazons leading the charge.
The role requires an appreciation of growth & retention drivers (email, paid ads, affiliate marketing) with direct accountability for site/channel performance. Shopify fluency is essential as the majority of site + App updates are completed by this position (retained dev agency for specific projects). Amazon (marketplace) experience is preferable however, a desire to skill up will be considered as we outsource key services to an agency partner (advertising + catalogue + inventory forecasting).

THE ROLE
The E-Commerce Lead will be responsible for the performance as well as be the main point of contact for our DTC site (www.balanceme.com) and Amazon business (UK & US), tracking closely results with regular analysis and reporting to deliver against key financial/other KPIs set. This position sits within the Marketing team, reporting to the Senior Brand Manager in all areas except for promotional planning/sign-off plus channel performance for which reporting is direct to our Commercial Director. The role also works cross-functionally with our Operations and Supply team to align trading plans with stock forecasting/availability as well as our Customer Care Lead to maintain high levels of customer service, essential for brand loyalty. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running & maintenance of our DTC site including all site content (product catalogue, pricing, assets), tech stack as well as implementation of promotions that ladder up to the overall Marketing strategy as well as deliver commercial targets. Our Amazon agency partner services most of the day to day management including on-platform advertising for both our Amazon Vendor and Seller accounts so the key responsibilities are to evaluate performance plus support the agency where required.
Key Responsibilities
DTC
- Own channel performance - to include; revenue forecasting/reporting with clear insights and timely actions to achieve revenue/profit targets, setting/tracking other web metric based KPIs to support revenue targets.
- Contribute to briefs/budget setting for paid growth marketing channels that drive traffic (new customers) to the website (paid ads, affiliate marketing etc) & then maximise conversion
- Plan and manage website content updates including homepage, product and collection pages, offer pages, blog posts etc.
- Actively merchandise the site - track inventory levels, best sellers, slow movers etc. and use Google Analytics to merchandise the website accordingly.
- Plan & execute website promotions to achieve revenue targets
- Track all KPIs set for the website including Apps such as Loyalty, Subscription Quiz & Reviews to support overall DTC objectives & revenue ambition.
- Support Brand Manager with Retention marketing as required.
- Proactively identify opportunities to drive sales.
- Liaise with relevant internal departments to collate product information in a timely manner.
MARKETPLACES: AMAZON
- Day to day management of our Amazon agency partner + overall channel responsibility day to day (reporting into Commercial Director).
- Plan & execute key promotions (Prime Day, BFCM, other Deal events) to achieve KPIs/targets set that do not directly compete with our DTC channel (BFCM exception).
- Report on performance with clear insights and agreed timely actions for agency partner to implement.
- Plan and provide all content updates to be implemented by our Amazon agency partner.
- Monitor inventory and arrange US stock shipments (ASINs/quantities) – Seller Account.
- Support business case to increase Amazon markets or other marketplaces to support business growth
GENERAL
- Supporting and contributing to Balance Me’s philanthropic activities e.g. volunteering programmes and fundraising initiatives.
- Taking advantage of and ownership for any relevant professional development and/or training opportunities.
- Demonstrating a personal and professional commitment to reducing the Company’s environmental impact and contributing to continually improving Balance Me’s environmental performance.
- Ensuring the implementation of good environmental practices whilst working in the office and at home, in the following specific areas: alternative transportation, paper, energy, office supplies and equipment and maintenance.
The Ideal Candidate
- 2+ years of related e-commerce experience in a similar role, with demonstrable Shopify expertise and a robust understanding of scaling DTC growth.
- Experience in revenue/channel accountability
- Proficient in reporting + analysing ecommerce metrics; experience of Triplewhale and Sweet Analytics an advantage whilst GA & Meta a given.
- Experience of DTC tech stack including loyalty, subscription, affiliate and quiz Apps
- Amazon (Seller/Vendor) knowledge/experience a strong advantage
- Commercial acumen: target setting & performance evaluation against commercial objectives
- Experience of Paid Ads/Affiliate marketing an advantage
- Email marketing experience desirable (but not essential)
- GDPR savvy.
- Pro-active and hands on approach with willingness to show initiative.
