Job description


Evolve HES are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will support tendering activities, manage commercial contracts and purchase orders, and handle quantity surveying duties for our SMD sites. This role is integral to providing accurate valuations to clients, overseeing subcontractor agreements, and generating monthly commercial reports to guide decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Tendering and Opportunity Evaluation

  • Work closely with Business Development Directors to assess and provide cost evaluations for coating projects on tender opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate and competitive pricing aligned with project objectives and business goals.

2. Contract and Purchase Order Management

  • Draft, negotiate, and finalize purchase orders and sub-contractor contracts.
  • Ensure contract terms comply with company policies and project requirements.

3. Site Quantity Surveying

  • Perform daily quantity surveying duties at our SMD sites, ensuring project costs are managed and budgeted effectively.
  • Track and report on project progress, ensuring alignment with timelines and budget constraints.

4. Client Valuations

  • Prepare and submit monthly valuations to clients, providing clear and detailed breakdowns of costs and progress.
  • Respond to client queries and provide support for any valuation disputes.

5. Commercial Reporting

  • Generate comprehensive monthly commercial reports for both internal and external stakeholders, providing insights into project financial performance.
  • Ensure all reports are accurate, timely, and in accordance with company reporting standards.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications are a plus (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB).
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying or commercial management, ideally within the construction or coating industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Working Conditions:

This role will involve time both in the office and on-site, working closely with site teams and subcontractors to ensure adherence to budget and project timelines.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent


Pay: From £40,000.00 per year
