Job Type: Full-time, Shift-based

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Shift Engineer to join our clients' engineering team at our state-of-the-art automated warehouse in Corby. This role is crucial in ensuring the continued efficiency and reliability of our automated systems, minimising downtime, and maintaining a high level of operational performance. You will be responsible for electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs across a variety of automated and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical and automation systems.
  2. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic faults on conveyors, sorters, robotics, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  3. Carry out fault-finding and problem-solving to minimise operational downtime.
  4. Work with PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.), ensuring quick fault diagnosis and resolution.
  5. Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies.
  6. Support and collaborate with the wider engineering team and production staff.
  7. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, fault analysis, and repairs.
  8. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as required.
  9. Continuously seek ways to improve system performance and efficiency.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND, or equivalent).
  2. 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations certification (or willingness to obtain).
  3. Proven experience working in an automated environment (warehousing, FMCG, manufacturing, or logistics).
  4. Strong understanding of PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.).
  5. Experience with conveyor systems, robotics, and automated machinery is advantageous.
  6. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a shift-based team.
  9. Good communication skills and attention to detail.

Shift Pattern:
Rotating shifts covering days, nights, and weekends as per business needs.
