Job Title: Mechanical FitterLocation: Carmarthenshire Job Type: Permanent basis Pay: £15 an hourHours: 8:00- 4:30 Mon - Fri with possible SaturdaysReporting to the Site Manager, the successful candidate will be working on mobile plant e.g. excavators, loading shovels, screeners, crushers etc. The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for repairing malfunctioning mechanical systems, on vehicles and plant machinery as and when required. They will keep accurate records of all maintenance work done on our computer system R2C. Responsibilities Keep accurate records of all maintenance work done Repair malfunctioning mechanical systems and vehicles. Keep truck and plant machinery up to the required standard Carry out 6 weekly inspections Carry out MOT inspections Complete R2C paperwork and inputting of data. Carry out road tests Attend to breakdowns Carry out trailer inspections Work on the road sweeper for maintenance Carry out mobile inspections Complete Tyre changes and Tyre fittings Maintain the variety of trucks, vans, car and plant machinery as owned by the company. Collaborate with other Fitters on large-scale projects. Safely use hand and power tools and company equipment. Follow the agreed maintenance schedule Perform system maintenance accordingly in line with line management direction. Conduct diagnostic testing on malfunctioning systems to determine the root cause of the malfunction. Replace damaged or defective structural components as needed. Adhere to all work-site safety rules and regulations.
