Were excited to announce that we are hiring for a HSE Manager to own develop and lead a multi-year HSE Strategy in collaboration with site and functional leadership in support of the Crop Protection (CP) R&D strategy which:Delivers against our Goal Zero ambition.Promotes and enhances the health and wellbeing of our employees.Protects and enhances the Jealotts Hill environment.Furthers the HSE maturity of the site.Within this role you will ensure compliance with the Syngenta HSE Management System and Requirements all applicable UK HSE legislations and best practices. You will lead and develop the HSE team while also owning the communication associated with all applicable HSE programmes and initiatives. Further key responsibilities will include:Driving the development and evolution of a suite of qualitative and quantitative measures to effectively track progress against the strategy and to identify emerging trends to shape future priorities.Ensuring the site has a continually refreshed resourced and robust Emergency Management System providing specialised support to ensure the effective management and mitigation of incidents and emergencies.Embedding a continuous improvement (CI) approach to HSE operational activities collaborating with CI professionals and the extended network as well as developing capabilities in the team.Acting as an ambassador for HSE while building and maintaining a documented communication plan to effectively implements the HSE strategy.Embedding a robust incident investigation methodology and mindset in the HSE team and site leadership which ensures that true root causes are always identified.Ensuring the HSE Team maintain auditable records of all activities policies and procedures.Playing a leading role in exchanging knowledge thinking and good practices across the Global Crop Protection Research HSE Exchange and UK Syngenta Ltd business partnering with other HSE professionals.Acting as a member of the Infrastructure Leadership Team to integrate HSE across all activities and strategic priorities.HSE budget management.Qualifications : What are we looking forNEBOSH Diploma level qualified or equivalent HSE qualifications.A good working knowledge of common HSE systems and platforms (e.g. Enablon).Proven record of developing and leading a HSE strategic plan.A visionary leader capable of engaging the organisation and driving pragmatic change.Experience in managing and developing a professional HSE team.Working experience with UK Regulatory bodies (e.g. EA DEFRA) and detailed knowledge of UK legislation.Experience of working in a complex global business or working on a large campus in an international and multidisciplinary team environment.Broad HSE experience ideally in the life sciences or similar industry including across laboratory office and construction environments.Experience of managing operational budgets.Excellent organisational skills and a proven ability to prioritise plan and deliver to deadlines.Someone who can communicate with impact and in a compelling way.Project or change management qualifications is desirable.Additional Information : Our siteJealotts Hill International Research Centre UK is situated in pleasant semi-rural surroundings between Bracknell and Maidenhead and is the place of work for approximately 800 Syngenta scientists and support staff.
