About the Role:Due to company growth we are looking to appoint a Drainage Assistant to join our Edinburgh Depot. Working as part of a two person teams you will be responsible for attending drainage related issues such as blockages pipe clearing cleansing and reactive call outs.Location: EdinburghHours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per weekSalary: 14 per hour overtime rates.Weekly payWhat we offer:21 Days holiday plus Bank HolidaysPensionDeath in serviceResponsibilitiesOperate machineryEnsure all H&S requirements are followedCommunicate with customers about scheduled works and address any concerns.Assist in identifying drainage issues including blockages structural defects infiltration and root ingress.Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear drains sewers and pipework.Remove waste materials and prevent build-up in wastewater systems.Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance to ensure readiness.Support CCTV inspections to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.Assist in emergency response situations including flooding and urgent drainage issues.Learn to complete job sheets risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) under supervision.RequirementsFull UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points)A strong interest in drainage utilities or civil engineeringA practical hands-on approach and willingness to work outdoors in all conditionsGood communication and teamwork skillsBasic computer skills and a desire to learn new softwareLanes Group will provide all training required for the role such as high-pressure water jetting confined space spill response etc.What you will get in return:In joining the Lanes Group the UKs largest independent provider we are committed to fostering a workplace culture that prioritises the well-being growth and safety of our employees.
