An established construction consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Winchester office. The firm delivers sustainable, future-focused projects across healthcare, education, commercial, residential, heritage, and public and private sector schemes. Projects typically range from £5 million to £50 million, providing the chance to work on both substantial new developments and technically challenging refurbishments.The roleAs a Senior Quantity Surveyor will take ownership of projects from inception to completion, managing all commercial and contractual aspects and providing expert advice to clients. Key responsibilities include:Leading budgeting, cost control, value engineering, and maximising project profitabilityManaging contracts, including NEC, JCT, and other forms, to ensure commercial successIdentifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks to keep timelines and budgets on trackBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teamsMentoring team members and supporting professional growthWorking across a diverse portfolio spanning healthcare, education, commercial, residential, heritage, and public and private sector projectsAbout youThe ideal candidate will have strong consultancy experience and a proven track record delivering client-focused solutions. Key requirements include:Minimum of three years PQS experience in consultancy construction project managementMRICS qualification or equivalent, or a clear commitment to achieving chartered statusSolid knowledge of construction methodologies, design coordination, procurement, and contract administrationExperience managing NEC, JCT, and other contract formsProficiency in budgeting, cost control, value engineering, and maximising project profitabilityAbility to identify and mitigate project risks and manage complex project timelinesProficiency in Microsoft 365 and cost management software such as CADMeasure or iTWO CostXExcellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectivelyEven if you do not meet every requirement, applications are encouraged, up skilling and professional growth are supported by the client.What the company offersThe client offers a competitive salary between £65,000 plus package, with hybrid working and flexible hours.
