We are looking for a meticulous, process driven Senior Data Solutions Lead to join our growing team at The Smarty Train. Can you analyse and tell a story with data, from a variety of sources to support ECO: our Early Careers Optimiser; the Smarty Train’s in-house diagnostic tool? What would you be doing in this key role? Here is a snapshot:


  • Leading TST’s diagnostic project portfolio, ensuring that all stakeholders (internal and external) have a best-in-class experience
  • End-to-end leadership of ECO projects including running of stakeholder engagement workshops and relationship management
  • Supporting the team with assisting clients with day-to-day queries on technical and data aspects of the project
  • Iterating, improving and building ECO processes, including data analysis & insights, to ensure maximum quality and efficiency
  • Creating reports, writing and delivering insights from multiple data sets
  • Championing TST’s client strategy, always keeping one eye on the long-term objectives of the business, whilst measuring performance against key metrics
  • Leading on team evolution with fresh ideas and opportunities for growth
  • Overseeing and manage project financials to ensure we maintain planned margins
  • Ensuring the quality standards of the client and TST are met
  • Evaluating the success of the project against its benchmarking and sharing lessons learnt and best practice with team
  • Ensuring suitable communication approaches with clients that grow relationships, this includes precise positioning in all communication and a ‘how else can we help’ perspective
  • Understanding of trends and evolving nature of the talent marketplace through activity in relevant networks and thought leadership in the Early Careers space
  • Line management within a small team
  • Management of freelance researchers/contractors as and when required
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously, delivering each one on time


This might be the role for you if you are/have:


  1. 5+ years data analytics experience, in an agency, consulting or professional services environment
  2. Experience in leading, planning, executing, and overseeing of projects from conception to completion, using relevant software/tools
  3. Interest in the early careers/talent development/learning & development space
  4. Experience working in a small project team with a drive to foster collaboration and high-performance
  5. Management of data systems with expertise in quantitative data
  6. Direct client management experience in a fast-paced environment


You will have:


  • A degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related discipline)
  • Technical proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages
  • Experience using project management software and tools
  • Strong data analytics acumen with ability to adapt to new frameworks
  • Specialism in quantitative data
  • Ability to lead and inspire a project team, including line management skills
  • Experience leading and steering multiple projects to best outcomes, delivering on time
  • Excellent client relationship engagement and management skills
