Key ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with the PLP management team the main focus of this role is to manage and control PLPs 40m production spend on output commissioned by the Premier League and provide financial information and analysis on the departments activities. The Head of Finance will also be responsible for the accurate financial planning of PLPs activities in IMGs corporate systems and the monthly accounting close and be expected to advise on best practice and workflow improvements. The Head of Finance will be the line manager for a support team of 5 accounting staff.BudgetingWorking alongside the Head of Production this role is responsible for overseeing the production budgeting process by:Co-ordinating and managing the preparation of accurate detailed and timely budgets;Assisting the Production Management team with any budgeting queries;Monitoring performance vs. budgets on a regular basis;Consolidating the latest event budget information into a quarterly rolling financial forecast;Updating IMG corporate financial plans with current forecastsManagement ReportingProviding PLP management with regular and ad hoc financial reports as requiredInvestigating and explaining budgetary variancesProviding financial analysis to drive procurement and strategic decisions within the department.Preparing regular financial reporting packs for meetings with Premier LeagueLiaising with IMG corporate accounting on all relevant matters.AccountingEnsuring that all PLP accounting complies with applicable company tax and other legal/government regulations. Specific tasks will include:Ensuring that internal authorisation policies are complied with;Ensuring that appropriate revenue recognition policies are applied to PLP accountingEnsuring that external payments comply with HMRC tax rules for the Film and TV industryReviewing supplier and customer contracts and advising on financial issuesMonthly accounting close of PLP projects in SAPEscalating unusual financial issues to the Head of Production and Finance DirectorReviewing procedures and making recommendations for improvementsPerson SpecificationKnowledge and ExperienceMandatory Confident and flexible team playerExperience of providing finance support within a commercial environmentDesirableProduction/Media industry experienceSAP and BPC experienceKnowledge of HMRC tax rules as they affect the television programme production businessExperience of working in a multi-national organisationSkills and AbilitiesMandatory Proficient in MS Word and ExcelAbility to work alongside and understand the requirements of production and commercial colleagues.Ability to manage and motivate a team of 5 assistantsQualifications and TrainingMandatory Educated to degree levelQualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or equivalentAptitudes/Personal ProfileMandatory Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong verbal and written communication skillsHigh attention to detailDrive to initiate and lead projects and see them through to a conclusionA pro-active approach and the ability to work independentlyWorking Conditions:Fixed Term Contract 12 monthsLondon Stockley ParkRequired Experience:Director Key Skills AutoCAD 3D,Business Travel,CAD CAM,ABAP,Management Administration,Manufacturing Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
