Factory Handyman / Building Services OperativeBedford areaMonday – Friday day shift£34 000My client is a leading food manufacturing business based in the Bedford area. They are going from strength to strength and as a result are going through a huge recruitment drive.They are looking for a Factory Handyman / Building Services Operative / Building Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.The main aim for the role is to maintain and improve the fabrication of buildings internally and externally to the required standards within a food manufacturing environment.Responsibilities will include – * Assist in with building maintenance and repairs in accordance with the GMP audits * Painting and decorating * Carpentry * Plumbing * Building proofing i.e. filling in holes with concrete or plaster, sealing joints * Electrical i.e. changing light tubes, plugs etc. * Services i.e. unblocking drains, keeping drains clear * Computer literate so reports and job logging can be done * Good understanding of Health and Safety at work i.e. COSHH, Risk AssessmentsThe ideal candidate will have a background in Building services, in a maintenance / engineering / operative capacity.
