The Job

As part of our growth aspirations we’re excited to be adding to our team - we're looking for an Assistant Underwriter (Property, SME Package). You will be responsible for providing underwriting support to the team and work closely with agents and brokers, providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships, while ensuring the timely and accurate processing of new and renewal policies. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in underwriting who is looking for a challenging and rewarding role in a dynamic and growing MGA.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the first point of contact for agents and brokers, providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships
  • Assist in the underwriting and processing of new and renewal policies for small to medium-sized businesses
  • Review applications, gather information, and assess risks to determine insurability and pricing of policies
  • Collaborate with Underwriters to make underwriting decisions and determine appropriate coverage and pricing for policies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of policies and underwriting decisions
  • Monitor and analyse underwriting results to identify trends and improve underwriting practices
  • Keep up-to-date with industry developments and changes in regulations that may affect underwriting practices


Requirements:

  • Positive energy and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs
  • Knowledge of insurance industry regulations and trends
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in SME (Property & Casualty) insurance / underwriting for small to medium-sized businesses
