Working for a global leader in their field based in the Cambridge area, you will be responsible for leading, managing & growing the team to develop a world class range of products.


You should have extensive experience in sectors such as Consumer Goods, MedTech or BioTech with a strong knowledge of plastics and whilst managing a team, still enjoy a hands on aspect.


Collaborating with cross functional teams, you will oversee the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems to ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget. This will be alongside developing and implementing departmental policies, standards, and procedures.


What do we need from you?


  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a mechanical engineering department.
  • Extensive experience in the development of consumer based products.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering software
  • Proficient in CAD design tools 2D / 3D (CREO, SolidWorks), mechanical simulation tools (ANSYS)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships along with the confidence to challenge where necessary
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The tenacity to achieve challenging goals
  • An analytical thinker with a logical and methodical approach to identifying issues and solutions
  • Experience with developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting KPI’s
  • The ability to research identify, implement and monitor innovative solutions
