HSE ManagerLocation:Ellesmere Port Job Type:Full-time, Permanent Industry:Manufacturing / Heavy Machinery About the RoleReporting to the General Manager and working closely with the Senior Management Team, theHSE Managerwill lead the development and implementation of a first-class Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) culture across the organisation. This is a hands-on, standalone role suited to an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is confident influencing at all levels of the business. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain a robust Health & Safety strategy and operational agenda across all departments.Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and internal policies.Lead regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring all findings are acted upon promptly.Maintain systems for recording, reporting, and investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses.Conduct and review COSHH assessments and manage the safe handling of hazardous substances.Deliver in-depth health and safety inductions and training for all employees and managers.Coordinate statutory training, emergency drills, and compliance reporting.Oversee PPE management and site safety equipment procurement within budget.Drive continuous improvement in environmental management, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainability initiatives.Produce and present monthly HSE performance reports to the Senior Management Team.Liaise with regulatory and enforcement bodies where necessary.What Were Looking ForProven HSE management experience withinManufacturing / Heavy Machineryenvironments.In-depth understanding ofISO 9001, 14001, and 45001frameworks, with experience conducting internal audits.NEBOSH qualified(or equivalent).Demonstrable success managing HSE functions for a workforce of 100+ employees.Experience withSEDEXcompliance (advantageous).Strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills.Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident preparing professional reports and presentations.Must holdvalid Right to Work in the UK .Key AttributesCommercially minded, proactive, and solutions-focused.Confident working independently and managing your own workload.Collaborative approach with the ability to engage teams and drive cultural change.Hands-on and visible leadership style.TPBN1_UKTJ
