Job Purpose:We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper with a background in the construction industry, preferably within an SME. The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient and capable of managing the role independently, while also being a collaborative team player when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage bookkeeping tasks for 16 to 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options over 5 days.- Ensure accurate and timely execution of all bookkeeping duties, including Sage Payroll and CIS and subcontractor payments, with a clear understanding of Gross status and CIS rules.- Handle Reverse Charge VAT, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns efficiently.- Utilize Sage for various accounting and financial reporting tasks.- Demonstrate strong Excel skills to manage and analyze financial data.
Requirements:- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper within the construction sector, ideally in an SME setting.- Ability to work independently without constant supervision, yet providing a smooth transition with provided training and handover.- Proficiency in Sage 50 and Sage Payroll is essential.- In-depth knowledge of CIS rules and experience with subcontractor payments.- Familiarity with Reverse Charge VAT and experience in conducting bank reconciliations and preparing VAT returns.- Strong capabilities in Sage reporting and good knowledge of Excel.
