KS3-5 French and German Teacher

Role Description

This role is for KS3-5 French and German teaching for KS3 French, iGCSE German, and International A Level German. You will be responsible for planning and facilitating engaging lessons in International A Level (IAL) German, iGCSE German, and KS3 French. The role involves creating comprehensive lesson plans, delivering interactive classes, providing individualized support to students, assigning homeworks, and assessing their progress. Qualifications taught are from Pearson Edexcel examination board only. This role is for teaching currently within the year groups of Year 7, 8, 10, 11, and 13.


Requirements and Expectations

This role is an hourly remunerated role at 30GBP per live lesson hour. International A Level German students receive 4 hours per week of live lessons. iGCSE German students receive 2 hours per week of live lessons. KS3 French students receive two blocks of 50 minute live lessons per week. This role must assign homework, Guided Independent Learning tasks, and monitor student academic progress and achievement on the designated learning management system and via termly reports. Oxford Online School provides online textbook access to all teachers, as well as an internal Pearson Account, ActiveLearn Language resources, Britannica School, and Quizziz Premium. 


Timetable

The current timetable for International International A Level German (Year 13) is Mondays 10am-11am, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9am-10am, and Fridays 12pm-1pm. The current timetable for iGCSE German (Year 10) is Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am-11am and for Year 11 is Tuesdays 9am-10am and Fridays 10am-11am. The current timetable for KS3 French is Mondays 2:30-3:20pm and Wednesdays 1:30pm-2:20pm.


This timetable is subject to increase with student enrollment periods. Candidates should apply considering the current timetable, as minimal change is expected to the timetable.


Qualifications

  • Degree in Foreign Languages, German and/or French studies, or a related subject
  • QTS or PGCE a plus
  • Knowledge of the British curriculum
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching German and French languages 
  • Experience in LMS usage, lesson planning, and educational content creation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in online teaching a plus


This is not a tutoring role. This is a fully end-to-end teaching role.
