Were proud of our heritage but even more excited about making history.The RoleAs News Editor (maternity cover) youll be responsible for workflow management and editorial oversight of Digital Spys entire News output. Youll be a TV and Movies obsessive with the talent to channel your enthusiasm for everything from The Traitors to Sinners from Adolescence to Emmerdale.Main Duties Managing the rota of reporters so that all shifts are covered always Managing Digital Spys Evening News Editors Sourcing stories in collaboration with the TV Movies and Soaps editors and identifying the angles that are right for Digital Spy Providing feedback and training for reporters and sub-editors Using your expert understanding of Google Discover optimisation and SEO to hone headlines of crystalline perfection Writing up your own stories when possible Managing timely and accurate payment for shiftworking reporters Assessing article performance and delivering weekly analysis to the wider teamWhat We Are Looking ForAn entertainment expert who loves to share their enthusiasm with other fans. Youll have at least two years experience in a digital editorial capacity and at least as much again as a writer in an entertainment news environment. You need to be able to think on your feet prioritise workloads (your own and others) and be able to switch between tasks at high speed without losing focus. Familiarity with Microsoft business software (Planner Excel Teams etc) is highly desirable and experience with Hearsts CMS and Google Analytics/Google Search Console are a plus.
