Procurement and Logistics Officer

A client of ours in the Witham area are recruiting a Procurement and Logistics Officer to join their team on a full-time maternity cover contract (37 hours per week) for up to 12 months. This role is expected to start towards the end of January 2026 and is paying £34,000 - £36,000 per annum depending on experience. This position is working Monday - Thursday, 8.30am - 5.00pm and Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm, with a 1-hour lunch each day. Key Duties include but are not limited to: Procurement & Supply Chain * Raising and managing purchase orders in line with demand, forecasts and stock levels. * Maintaining optimum inventory levels, including MOQ and safety stock planning. * Investigating supply issues, shortages and delivery discrepancies. * Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams across production, finance and customer service. * Supporting invoice queries, credits and weekly/month-end purchasing tasks. * Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring compliance with agreements. * Contributing to cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. Planning & Coordination * Assisting with production scheduling based on customer orders, capacity and material availability. * Updating ERP/MRP systems with accurate scheduling and availability information. * Preparing reports, forecasts and KPIs for internal stakeholders. * Escalating issues that may impact customer delivery or capacity.
