DVV Media International is the UK-based subsidiary of DVV Media GmbH, specialising in media services and business solutions across a variety of B2B markets with dedicated websites, publications, events and webinars. Its brands include Commercial Motor, Personnel Today, Railway Gazette, Employee Benefits, Forum for Expatriate Management, Flight Global and Heavy Lift.


About the job:

This is an exciting opportunity in the Road Division to lead, develop and oversee the commercial strategy of the flagship website, www.commercialmotor.com, and upsell into the classified advertising sections of Commercial Motor, Motor Transport, Transport News and Truck & Driver print publications.


As a Digital Sales Executive you will work closely with our Technical Account Manager and Head of Digital to optimise our digital platform and grow our sales opportunities, increase our reach and influence, and help other teams achieve their goals.


You will be vital in building strong relationships with new and existing trade customers and with your friendly and engaging approach, you will contact commercial vehicle dealers daily via telephone and email, identifying upselling opportunities and delivering exceptional customer service.

This is a hybrid role, so you will be required to attend the Sutton office a minimum of twice a week and the occasional industry event (UK based).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Technical Account Manager to agree sales plans and KPIs.
  • Develop a full understanding of the Road Transport Media portfolio for cross selling opportunities.
  • Produce compelling proposals ranging anything from single ad listings to annual campaigns.
  • Manage customer accounts throughout the entire sales cycle to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Complete revenue responsibility for specific clients.
  • Exceed individual and team revenue targets.
  • Source and secure revenue from new prospects and lapsed customers.
  • Deal with businesses of varying sizes, SME to blue-chip.
  • Keep accurate, up to date records and pipelines in FreshDesk CRM.
  • Work with internal teams including marketing, production and finance to ensure smooth business operations and client satisfaction.
  • Support and promote a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Working to competing print deadlines whilst staying on top of website updates.


Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Previous experience in telephone-based sales, ideally in media.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, capable of building good connections internally and externally.
  • Experience with working on small to large corporate accounts.
  • Ability to close leads over the phone, email and video call.
  • Ability to pivot between a consultative sell and ‘smash & grab’ last minute sales.
  • Proactive and able to apply initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage own targets and workflow.
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects and leads.
  • Highly motivated and ambitious.
  • Good CRM experience.
