Sales Director – Healthcare Sales UK and Ireland
We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead Getinge's Healthcare Sales Division for the UK and Ireland.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a difference in this multi-faceted role through the development and implementation of a local sales strategy for the UK and Ireland.
With responsibility for successfully delivering Healthcare Sales, Profitability and Pricing Growth within the SSU, you will be a key part of the Senior Leadership Team, focusing on driving the business through a period of rapid change, against a backdrop of a very challenging NHS market.
You will confidently provide strong sales leadership across a broad range of products and market segments and empower your team to capitalise on growth opportunities. You will drive strong sales growth across the UK and Ireland through direct and indirect channels, with overall sales responsibility for the complete sales offerings of all healthcare product ranges, and accountable for the total healthcare sales performance in the UK & ROI.
You will further develop existing senior level relationships within the hospital sector, and leverage your strong track record of external stakeholder engagement in relevant areas with Industry bodies and NHS policy makers and regulators.
This sales leader will set the tone and be a role-model to ensure that everything Getinge does is focused on putting patients first, being a great place to work, and delivering on company values.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
Management- Responsible for leading and managing the sales team, driving tactical implementation and championing sales process and methodology, taking responsibility for leading, coaching and managing all Sales Teams.
- Work collaboratively and champion cross-functional working with service, commercial strategy and functional departments aligning on key stages of the sales process and driving a key account management methodology.
- Ensure sales force excellence through quarterly business planning and effective monitoring of business performance through appropriate use of relevant analytics and metrics, in order to continuously improve business performance and tactical execution at a national and account level.
- Oversee the segmentation and strategy for each customer vertical and arm the business development team with the skills and confidence to ensure that they are able to deliver at scale and achieve their growth targets.
- Ensure that customer and geographical coverage in the UKI is planned and measured and assess the optimum methods for reaching healthcare buyers.
- Lead and/or support business transformation as part of senior management, post-merger integration execution, scenario planning, and through organisational and operating model redesign.
- Anticipate market trends, opportunities and challenges to enable appropriate uptake and share Leadership.
- Responsible for leading the sales implementation of new product launches and line extensions as set out by GlobalCommOpps. Ensure maximum uptake through well-prepared sales and account strategies that are measurable and tracked throughout the product life cycle.
- Create a funnel 4-5 times the size of budgeted figures after a reasonable ramp up period in the business driving accuracy of forecasting and tracking of opportunities within the business.
- Identify and have input on large scale national high value tenders ensuring Tender deadlines are met. Work with commercial strategy on large scale opportunities, identifying, managing and influencing key stakeholders.

- Set the tone for the sales team: lead by example, exhibiting the Getinge values.
- Recruit, build manage and develop the capabilities of the sales team ensuring Talent is identified and the career development plans and paths are defined.
- Be a highly visible, deeply-engaged leader and coach for the team.
- Lead, operate and drive change in a complex and rapidly changing environment, ensuring a strong focus on problem solving and drive for improvement.
- Direct and support all sales teams to achieve agreed objectives and ensure that they function as a cohesive unit.
- Ensure that the team is collaborating fully across functions and fully harnessing the wider organisational matrix to support the goals of the business.
- Drive strong performance with a focus on sales force excellence and continuous improvement identifying and delivering on set KPIs.
- Maintain P+L visibility and high level of contribution across all Healthcare Sales Divisions, ensuring turnover, GP2, EBITA and integrated margin growth targets are met in accordance with approved budgets submitted to the President UKI and Finance Director in a timely manner in accordance with reporting deadlines.
- Drive revenue and share growth through commercial strategy implementation, direct and indirect channel management, compensation design, pricing and contracting control, and sales force effectiveness.
- Increase profitability through pricing maximization, improving manufacturing and procurement processes, maintaining SG&A cost controls, facilitating restructuring and synergies, and improving product line mix distribution and selling.
- Improve cash flow through price and profit maximization, working capital improvement, inventory and supply chain processes, capital expenditure controls, and developing strategies for tax, debt, and shareholder dividend management.
- Prepare annual budget in coordination with President UKI.
- Ensure all business is conducted in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Prepares annual budget for Healthcare in coordination with President UKI.
- Monitors and drives delivery of project management, installations & commissioning.
- Coordinates and monitors forecasting activities.
- Keep the Group's vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the President UKI.

Your Experience & Skills include:
- Bachelor's degree (minimum level) in a related discipline and healthcare capital device experience is preferred.
- Senior sales manager or sales director for 7 Yrs +, managing at least 2 multi-division and multi-region sales teams for capital equipment and consumables.
- Management of 15+ sales staff.
- 10 years' industry experience with a focus on sectors including Medical Devices and Medical Technology. Extensive understanding of NHS Procurement, Finance and policy.
- Wide-ranging relationships across the sector.
- Consultative and solutions selling experience and expertise.
- Excellent financial acumen – the successful candidate will have demonstrated financial flair in their career to date.
- Demonstrable experience in a successful business transformation process, with an instrumental and identifiable role in the success.
- Excellent programme/project management skills with the ability to demonstrate significant successful people/team leadership experience.
- Quality control/Regulatory/Clinical/Medical Education credentials will be considered a distinct bonus.

- UK Requirements: Eligibility to work in the UK (essential).
- Driving Licence: Required to hold a valid UK driver's licence.
- Travel: Ability to travel within the UK and abroad with overnight stays as and when required.
- Will be required to attend training courses as deemed necessary.
