Who will you be working with?

As part of the Plant Engineering/Maintenance team in Northampton, working on a weekly rotating shift pattern 0600-1400 / 1400-2200, you will have the opportunity to engineer solutions and maintain systems for our radiators production for the power generation industry.

How will you make a difference?

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, reporting to the Manager, Plant Engineering/Maintenance, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving all machinery used in the manufacturing process, periodically inspecting systems to ensure optimal functioning and troubleshooting problems.

What do we want to know about you?

  1. Ideally you will have a manufacturing background, but it is not essential.
  2. Apprentice trained, electrically qualified as a minimum.
  3. Ability to read engineering diagrams/drawings, and control circuits/schematics.
  4. Experience with DC/AC Drives, electrical hoists, and 3 phase motors.
  5. Experience with safety and light circuits, inverters, PLC systems, relays, and speed control systems.
  6. Experience with working with sensors.
  7. Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic control systems is advantageous.
  8. A mechanical understanding of gearboxes, pumps, and pneumatics would be advantageous.
  9. Ability to prioritise and plan effectively, while working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  10. Ability to follow processes, especially health and safety/manual handling.

What will your typical day look like?

  1. The role is to maintain, service, and repair all machinery used in the manufacturing process.
  2. Minimise production downtime.
  3. Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping.
  4. Conduct PPMs when required.

What about the physical demands of the job?

A manual environment, lifting heavy equipment with magnetic hoists and chain/strap hoists.
