You will adhere to depot protection, safety, quality and environmental procedures, rules and regulations in force.Your main responsibilities will be:Form up service trains as specified by Movements Manager, Fleet Control or Ground Frame OperatorTo oversee movements of trains on to pit road 8 and off pit road 8.To prepare trains for service.Work to laid down specifications.Comply with rules and regulations.Adhere to working instructions.Advise of all work undertaken and any problems encountered promptly.Report any defects found on stock whilst carrying out duties.Carry out/adhere to depot protection procedures.Work to be undertaken to comply with depot quality procedures.Ensure work is undertaken to meet service requirements.Work to be undertaken in a safe manner.Carry out Fleet Preparation as required.Carryout winter precautions within the depot as per local instructions.Advise Movements Manager of any problems or defects identified and work arising from the issues.Work effectively as part of a team.As part of the role you will attend practical training courses to gain knowledge and qualifications in the following:Passed out in Rules and Regulations.Thorough knowledge of depot operating procedures and safety requirements.Personal Track Safety.DC Electrified Lines.Competent in the operation of GSM-RCompetent to undertake isolation of 7 and 9 roads via TIS boxShunting dutiesTrain preparationAs a minimum, you will need to have:Experience working within a Safety Critical environment is preferredDemonstrate ability to work on own initiative.About the location:Clapham Depot is an extremely busy location situated in the middle of Clapham Junction Station that provides a service 24/7. Clapham, due to its location, sees all the rolling stock that SWR run on a daily basis. We have a large and diverse team who undertake various roles to ensure that we meet our customer service levels and expectations in train reliability, safety, performance and train cleanliness.Clapham is an excellent location to learn and understand different aspects of the Railway and is a fantastic starting point for people wanting to learn about the operational side of the Rail industry. It could also be suited to those seeking a new and more demanding challenge.
