About the Opportunity


We’re a UK-based deep tech start-up seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer (Python Based) to join our enthusiastic and rapidly growing team. Ideally, you’ll have 7+ years industry experience delivering software products as a Lead Full Stack Engineer (Python Based). The role will involve leading the development of our AI based (LLM/RAG) system. This will require developing both frontend and backend as well as closely working with the AI team to ensure the software is robust and suitable for applications.

Key Responsibilities


  • Leading the full software development and integration of Oxford Dynamics AI based (LLM/RAG) software. This will include managing team members as well as developing the front and backend.
  • Integrating offline versions of Oxford Dynamics’ software into customers systems.


Minimum Qualifications & Experience


·      Track record of leading the delivery of scalable software products, ideally for startups.

·      Examples of scalable software that has been delivered for previous companies with yourself as the lead.

·      Strong experience leading teams to deliver software products

·      Experience with both frontend and backend development

·      Experience building and integrating fully offline scalable applications

·      Strong knowledge of working on the backend with Python

·      Experience of creating APIs and working with databases (PostgreSQL)

·      DevOps experience with setting up and managing stacks on AWS or GCP

·       Demonstrable experience in working with business-critical applications. We are looking for people who are experienced in dealing with typical production issues and know how to respond to, and work in such an environment. 

·       Strength in JavaScript and adequate frontend experience with one JS based framework - ideally Next.js

·       BS, MS or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field

  • A portfolio of previous work

·       Experience building fully offline applications

  • Experience with Git-workflow within a production team
  • Experience with Agile product development
  • Experience of working in a fast-moving commercial environment
  • Experience with building Restful services
  • Experience presenting in front of project stakeholders
  • Keen business development interest
  • Experience and knowledge of data security and compliance
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated environment such as defence, nuclear, space etc
