The position

The main responsibilities of the Tax Assistant will be to prepare and review tax returns, P11Ds and ATED returns as well as support the Senior Tax Manager with tax planning projects and compliance matters. Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational and time management skills are essential for this role. You will have the ability to plan and anticipate their own workload, so the Tax Team continues to deliver a professional service to our client.

An outline of the job and what it will entail is stated below:

  • Completing personal tax returns
  • Completing CGT returns
  • Being a team player and supporting each other with queries, and other staff members with queries
  • Dealing with client post, ensuring letters are checked and clients are updated.
  • Trust tax returns and annual declarations
  • Share transfers/reclassification.
  • Tax calculations
  • Overpayment relief claims
  • Communicating with clients, ensuring their requests are fulfilled, i.e. SA302/Tax year overview requests, repayment chasing

About you:

  • Interact well with clients and other staff members.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organisation.
  • Strong mathematical and administrative skills.
  • Work independently but also as part of a team and help others when required.
  • Conversant with Microsoft Excel and Word.
