The Role


As the UK Managing Director, you will be responsible for leading the organisation’s UK operations, driving strategic growth, and ensuring operational excellence. This high-impact role requires a seasoned leader with expertise in the renewable energy or technology sectors, capable of delivering results in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

You will lead all aspects of the business, including sales, market development, operational strategy, financial performance, and stakeholder engagement. Your efforts will play a crucial role in solidifying the company’s position as a trusted leader in the UK energy storage market.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic Leadership and Vision

  • Develop and implement a strategic business plan to drive growth and market share in the UK.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the UK team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Ensure all operations comply with industry regulations and company standards.


Market Expansion and Growth

  • Define and execute market entry strategies, identifying new opportunities and channels for growth.
  • Build a high-performing sales team, establishing targets and driving accountability for results.
  • Monitor market trends to identify competitive advantages and potential risks.


Stakeholder and Client Engagement

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and high-level negotiations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders.


Operational and Financial Oversight

  • Manage the financial performance of the UK division, optimising revenue streams and controlling costs.
  • Oversee supply chain and logistics to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present performance reports to the board, identifying areas for improvement and strategic opportunities.


Innovation and Product Alignment

  • Collaborate with global product development teams to tailor offerings to the UK market.
  • Drive research and development initiatives to ensure the company remains at the forefront of the industry.


Regulatory and Risk Management

  • Ensure all activities comply with UK regulations, including health and safety, environmental standards, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with market dynamics and operational challenges.

  • Proven track record of success in senior leadership roles, ideally within energy storage, renewable energy, or a related sector.
  • Deep understanding of the UK energy storage market and its regulatory landscape.
  • Strong strategic planning, operational management, and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a history of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation and sustainability.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
