The role has arisen due to a longstanding employee (40 + years) retiring from the organisation. The role formally reports into the finance director, however on a day to day basis you will be accountable to the head of finance.

The ResponsibilitiesThe purpose of this role is to provide accounting support to the head office finance function within the organisation. You can expect to be involved in a wide range of accounting tasks and experience broad training opportunities.

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;

  • Processing accounts receivable/payable transactions and reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Support month end reporting, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts information
  • Assisting branch offices with accounting queries
  • Client and supplier account applications and dealing with third party enquiries
  • Assisting when team members are on annual leave
  • Ad hoc accounts administration responsibilities

The RequirementsWe are seeking an individual who has at least 12 months of practice experience of working within an accounting role (within the UK), and who is eager to join an organisation with a legacy of longstanding team members. The role would suit an individual who has excellent communication skills, IT knowledge and someone who is able to work as part of a close-knit finance team. The role holder will be expected to manage tight deadlines and be confident in outwardly focused supplier interactions.
