Role Overview:

We seek a skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer with a strong IT infrastructure background to join our dynamic team. This key technical role will focus on designing, deploying, and optimising secure cloud environments using Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), integrating them with on-premises IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will transform business requirements into robust, scalable, cost-effective architectures using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role requires a deep understanding of industry best practices for public cloud and on-premises infrastructure and the ability to effectively implement these principles.


Key Responsibilities:

Design and Architecture: Develop and deliver well-architected solutions, including Landing Zones for AWS or GCP, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance, and integrating on-premises infrastructure where necessary.

Infrastructure as Code: Create and manage infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform.

Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to align cloud infrastructure with business objectives and industry best practices.

Network and Security: Implement and maintain network designs, security measures, and compliance standards within both cloud and on-premises environments.

Technical Support: Provide expertise in cloud-native solutions, including APIs, containers, Kubernetes, and service mesh technologies.

Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends through continuous learning and improvement.


Required Skills and Experience:

Cloud Platform Expertise: Proven experience with AWS or GCP services and architecture, particularly designing and implementing Landing Zones and cloud foundations.

IT Infrastructure Background: Strong skills in at least one of the following disciplines: networking, security, servers, and systems, with experience in both on-premises and cloud environments.

IaC Proficiency: Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code.

Networking and Security: Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, governance, and hybrid cloud architectures.

Cost Management: Knowledge of cloud cost management and optimisation strategies.

Problem-solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
