Assistant Materials Controller

Location:Nottingham Salary:£26,000 to £28,000 per annum, depending on experience Contract type: Permanent, full-time role Do you have experience with construction materials, and are you seeking a new opportunity? PiLON is hiring a support for our Materials Controller to join our Kitchen & Bathroom refurbishment project in the Social Housing sector, based in the Nottingham area. Ideal Candidate Profile: We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, has a strong attention to detail, and is comfortable with physically demanding tasks. You will work closely with purchasing teams, site teams, and contract managers to ensure materials are delivered and handled effectively, and any site-related issues are promptly reported and resolved. Main Objectives of the Assistant Materials Controller role:Receiving and unpacking material deliveries, inspecting for accuracy and damage Managing material handling, including loading, unloading, and transporting items manually or with pallet trucks Sending out materials to teams on-site Assisting the materials controller in maintaining accurate records of materials issued and received Safely disposing of waste materials in compliance with HSE regulations Collaborating with site teams to deliver services aligned with contract and company standards Reporting site issues to the purchasing team, site teams, or contracts managers for resolution Do you have what it takes to become an Assistant Materials Controller at PiLON?Proven experience in working with construction materials used in property refurbishmentWritten and verbal communication skills Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks Self-motivated and able to collaborate effectively with various teams Prioritisation skills and flexibility to meet commitments and deadlines Organised with administration skills Access to a vehicle (preferred) Preferred Certifications(support can be provided if you don't have them yet) : CSCS card Asbestos Awareness Training Health & Safety Awareness Manual Handling Training Why work with us?
