Lineat Composites is developing a novel composite material recycling technology to full industrial scale and with it solve key problems in the high-tech manufacturing industry related to cost, productivity, and sustainability of carbon fibre composites. We are a clean-tech start-up based in Chepstow aiming to turn carbon fibre into the green material of the future with our novel water-based fibre alignment technology, allowing the re-use of carbon fibre in technical products.
Job Overview
Lineat is looking for a self-motivated Production Technician with previous experience operating different types of equipment and mechanical systems. You will be responsible for assisting with all tasks related with production of recycled carbon fibre tape, from feedstock preparation through to finished product packaging and shipping. You will work in close collaboration with the Production Manager and the rest of the engineering and R&D teams. Having an interest in finding new and more efficient ways of achieving production targets is an essential requirement for the role.
The candidate may also be required to work with the engineering and R&D teams more broadly to support ongoing research and development activities within Lineat. The role requires a candidate who is flexible, shows a positive attitude and is keen to learn and work on their own self development. You will need to have ‘hands on’ experience within a technical production environment, preferably with a good understanding of modern manufacturing systems and able to work as a team as well as unsupervised for extended periods of time.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties
Ensure production runs smoothly by creating and maintaining efficiency-oriented routines.
Maintain production logs and other production and maintenance documentation.
Perform equipment setup, operation and adjustments.
Perform minor routine and preventative maintenance tasks.
Aid maintenance engineers with major overhaul, upgrade and installation tasks.
Accountable for maintaining a safe working environment.
Assist the wider team with engineering and R&D activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Knowledge using different types of machines, tools and automated control systems.
No specific academic qualifications required.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in hands on environment, exposure to a material handling, production, or processing environment would be bonus.
Comfortable using automated machinery.
Familiarity with the concept of SOPs, production logs, quality standard documentation, H&S regulations, etc would be a bonus but not essential.
Good IT literacy.
