Senior Java Developer – London / Hybrid – Up to £90,000 + BenefitsWe’re partnered with an innovative fintech scale-up that’s redefining the credit and lending space. Backed by leading VC investors and operating successfully for the past decade, the business is now entering a new growth phase and looking for a Senior Java Developer to join their talented engineering team.This is a hybrid role based in central London, typically requiring 3 days per week in the office (with flexible hours). You’ll have the opportunity to work on a modern product roadmap, building next-generation platforms and payment systems that are shaping the future of digital lending.Tech StackJava 11+Spring BootAWSMicroservices architectureDocker / KubernetesKafka (or similar messaging tools)Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop high-performance, low-latency software components.Contribute across the full software development lifecycle.Write and maintain clean, testable, scalable code.Manage and enhance CI/CD and development process tooling.Collaborate in agile ceremonies and foster a culture of teamwork.Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practice.Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps, Data).Champion continuous improvement and innovation.Projects You’ll Work OnMigration from monolithic to microservices architecture.Upgrading core systems to newer Java versions.Enhancing UI frameworks (e.g., Vaadin).Building a new lender platform and modern payment systems.Who You AreA hands-on, pragmatic engineer who thrives in collaborative, fast-moving teams.A self-starter who enjoys autonomy and contributing ideas that drive real change.Experienced in modern Java development with a solid understanding of scalability and performance.Comfortable working in a startup or scale-up culture with light process and strong ownership.If this sounds like you, please apply now
