Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Project Sales Engineer with a strong background in data cabling, WiFi networking, and customer premises infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in permanent installation infrastructure, ideally transitioning from an engineering role into a more senior or supervisory position. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple responsibilities, including customer and site surveys, scope of works creation, project planning, resource allocation, and post-installation follow-up. As a Project Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving project success from inception to completion while ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer and Site Surveys:
    • Conduct detailed site surveys to assess customer requirements and existing infrastructure.
    • Collaborate with customers to understand their connectivity needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Project Planning & Management:
    • Develop comprehensive scopes of work, project plans, and timelines.
    • Allocate resources effectively, coordinating with engineers and other team members to ensure project milestones are met.
    • Oversee the initiation of projects, ensuring all necessary materials, tools, and personnel are in place.
  • Installation & Infrastructure:
    • Provide technical expertise and guidance during the installation of data cabling, WiFi networks, and related infrastructure.
    • Ensure installations comply with industry standards and company quality requirements.
  • Health & Safety Management:
    • Develop, maintain, and enforce health and safety documentation for all projects.
    • Ensure all on-site activities are conducted in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Customer Interaction & Support:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Address and resolve any issues that arise during installation, working closely with the customer to ensure their satisfaction.
    • Conduct post-installation follow-ups to ensure all project deliverables meet customer expectations.
  • Quoting & Sales Support:
    • Prepare detailed and accurate quotes for potential projects, considering all relevant factors such as materials, labor, and timelines.
    • Support the sales team by providing technical insights during the proposal and negotiation phases.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data cabling, WiFi networking, and customer premises infrastructure.
  • Previous experience as an engineer, with a transition into a supervisory or senior role.
  • Strong understanding of permanent installation infrastructure and industry standards.
  • Experience working in an SME environment, with the ability to wear multiple hats and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficient in conducting site surveys, developing scopes of work, and creating detailed project plans.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and the ability to develop and maintain related documentation.
  • Experience in preparing quotes and supporting sales activities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications in networking, cabling, or related fields.
  • Experience in the Internet, WiFi, or connectivity consultancy sectors.
