An Interim Financial Controller is needed to lead the Accounting & Finance department in a engineering firm based in Bristol. The ideal candidate should be able to manage a finance function, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget/ forecasts preparation and management senior stakeholder relationships.

Description

  • Oversee all aspects of the finance function including invoicing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Lead the operational finance function and set the standards for financial management in the business as a key member of the senior leadership team.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Provide regular cash-flow forecasts with which build from actual position and reflect planned business activity.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate rates to be used for pricing and project costing.
  • Manage and track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain appropriate reporting systems, processes and controls to manage the finances of projects and of the business as a whole.

Profile

The successful Interim Financial Controller should have:

  • An experienced Financial Controller, ideally with substantial PQE leading in Finance teams.
  • Experience in project-based industries is highly desirable.
  • Hold a CCAB accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • A team player who can communicate with non-financial colleagues.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of project financing solutions would b advantageous.
